The all-time-high number of participants, prestigious location in the building of the Ministry of the Economy and appearance of vice-premier Janusz Piechociński - 9th Conference turned out to be a success of SDCM.
This year the conference of Independent Automotive Market was a part of motorization week in the ministry of the economy. Thanks to this the event could take place in the lecture hall in the main building of the ministry, instead of a conference room in a hotel, as it was till that day. This in turn, made it possible to provide free admission for the participants, who came in a really big number this year - on 27 November 2014 the Conference was participated by about 350 people, whilst a year ago it was just 200 people.
From the point of view of the operators of independent automotive aftermarket, the most important event was the participation and speech of vice-premier and minister of the economy, Mr. Janusz Piechociński. For the first time in history, a politician and MP with so high position was a guest of the meeting of the "independent". Also Grażyna Henclewska, vice-minister of the economy was present in the meeting, responsible for the automotive industry, together with other important representatives of the ministry. Especially those last ones listened to all the lectures and presentations with interest.
The guest of the conference was also a representative of FIGIEFA - Henry Wasung, who presented problems connected with future telematic solutions. More regarding this topic can be found on the presentation and in speech delivered by Alfred Franke, president of SDCM. It is worth to notice that Henry Wasung delivered his presentation in Polish language, as he is a specialist of Middle and Eastern Europe and studied on Jagielloński University. The participants of the presentation rewarded him for this with huge applause.
Representatives of two biggest distributors on Polish market - Robert Kierzek, president of the board of Inter Cars and Bogumił Papierniok, CEO of Moto-Profil - summarized their experiences from past several years of Euro 5 directive being in force (715/2007) regarding access to technical information, and Alfred Franke presented a similar analysis of regulation MV BER/GVO (461/2010).
A very important topic was the question of technical tests, which was first discussed by Jerzy Maliński from OPM Moveo and Rafał Sosnowski, president of Motorization Technique Association, and which was later also discussed by Łukasz Twardowski, deputy director of Road Transport department in Infrastructure and Development Ministry.
Alfred Franke also presented the most modern information on decision of European Commission, which resigned from introducing the Repair Clause in the whole European Union. Jarosław Lewandowski, moderator of the Conference, also had a presentation on advertising campaigns of car makers, which bring disinformation and are unethical, and which are trying to discredit operators of independent automotive market. Motofaktor.pl wrote about this problem a year ago.
Participants of 9th Conference had a chance to hear about a new organization representing the interest of independent aftermarket - Association of Employers of Automotive Industry, which was represented by Jarosław Sojewski (Fomar Poland).
Traditionally, Alfred Franke and Robert Kierzek presented an automotive market summary in Poland and in Europe, but this year there were not even estimated data regarding revenues of Polish distributors in 2014. At the end of the conference there was an interactive debate with representatives of distributors and manufacturers of automotive spare parts.
