In huge conference room of Hilton Hotel in Warsaw, there was a solemn gala on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Inter Cars, the biggest in Poland supplier of automotive spare parts for the aftermarket. The conference was hosted by members of the management board – Robert Kierzek – president of the board, Krzysztof Soszyński – vice-president and Piotr Zamora – chief financial officer. The whole event was observed from the front row by the founder and first president - Krzysztof Oleksowicz.
Within those 25 years of activity, the Company changed from a small family company located on the area of just 300sqm into a giant with 378 branches in 13 countries of Europe. Around 67 thousand customers regularly buy in those branches, served by six thousand employees. One should add, that from the very beginning up to today, the company has recorded double-digit annual growths. That is why the current market value of Inter Cars is PLN 3.5bn, and value of one share went from PLN 23 at its IPO 10 years ago, to PLN 222 in June this year. Among European companies operating on the aftermarket, IC is on the fifth place, whilst in the whole world it is number 10.
Very important in development of Inter Cars are daughter companies, such as Feber – manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers for trucks, like ILS – i.e. Logistics subsidiary dealing with warehousing. A European Logistics Centre in Zakroczym is being currently constructed for ILS Company, with total storage area of 40sqm. The centre will be realizing the following tasks: receipt of goods from suppliers, order realization, order picking, breaking bulk and returns of goods, and cross-docking. It will be operating more efficiently not only because of locating all logistics activities in one place, but also thanks to technical solutions used in it. The new premises, which are to become the main warehouse of the whole logistics chain if Inter Cars Group are also a door to global development of the company.
The second area which the company wants to develop is expanding relations with customers by means of new technologies. Developing the One Stop Shop programme with help for repair garages in building relationships with customers on-line. A starting point for further operations became Motointegrator.pl platform, which is visited by 500,000 even up to one million drivers monthly, of which 25 thousand purchase services each month. Basing on this experience, Inter Cars company constructed three further platforms which are helping repair garages reaching the customers and meeting their needs: Moto-usługi. Com. Motowygoda.pl and Motointegrator Partner.
The Gala was finished with handing in congratulatory letters to the board of the company and a presentation of a jubilee t-shirt made by Krzysztof Hołowczyc - being the face of IC - which was given to all the participants of the meeting. There was also a very special cake, composed of hundreds of cupcakes with cream.
