The results of education system reforms made in 2012 were discussed in the seat of Robert Bosch company, with active participation of representatives of Inter Cars SA.

The participants were: State Secretary Tadeusz Sławecki, Director of Vocational Education and Continuous Learning, Ewa Konikowska-Kruk and Piotr Bartosiak - Governor of European Program Division in Department of Vocational and Continuous learning from National Education Ministry (MEN), 11 directors of high technical schools from all over Poland, Polish-German Industrial-Trading Chamber (AHK) and employers: the companies: Festo, Robert Bosch and Inter Cars. The discussion was also participated by representatives of Polish Automotive Association, publishers of books – Communication and Connectivity Publishing House and editing team of Auto Moto Service.

The debate about practical results of 2012 reform was initiated by Krystyna Boczkowska, CEO of Bosch company. During the meeting:

  • Participants discussed the need of modernizing vocational education by introducing dual schooling system (practical experience in real companies) and adapting the schooling program to current needs of the market – dual schooling is already realized in VW, Bosch, MAN and Solaria companies;
  • MEN representatives passed information about division of EU donations for education – schools can apply to local authorities for purchases of necessary equipment or use EU funds that are under authority of Marshals;
  • MEN representatives informed that within new financial perspectives of using EU funds, there are activities planned to prepare new employees for vocational education system in Poland.

MEN representatives also listened to all questions coming from the participants of the meeting and tried to give full answers. The meeting was summarised by a list of postulates which were delivered to MEN. The most important of them are:

  • Promotion and image improvement of vocational schooling among teenagers by more common career counselling in junior high schools performed by well prepared counsellors;
  • Implementing incentives for employers to participate in practical vocational schooling in their companies;
  • Checking and verifying equipment of vocational schools if they are able to meet requirements regarding preparing students to perform a particular job;
  • Suggestion to perform professional tests in June.

Vocational education must be changed in order to meet the needs of developing and changing economy. Editing team of Auto Moto Service, as co-organizers of Automotive Technique Olympics, will carefully follow all the changes in vocational schooling system. Such meetings are exactly for this reason.
