Construction of sailing boats in our country is very well developed. The report by U.S. Commercial Services shows that, Poland is on the fifth place in the world manufacturing of yachts, and also the second country in the world in manufacturing small boats and motor-boats up to 10 metres length. Year on year the market is increasing its production, out of which 95 percent of vessels are exported mainly to Western Europe and to the USA. Moreover - every third yacht sailing in Europe was manufactured in Poland.
At the same time, great potential can be also noticed in the country - the Baltic Sea and the Great Mazurian Lakes are perfect natural environment for water sports. These areas are the greatest in Poland for sailing, and it is there, where most of the harbours and ports are located. The number of vessels registered in Poland is estimated at about 80 thousand. The market is constantly developing, and data of Marine associations show, that approx. 5 mio of Poles, at least once in their lifetime, took part in a sailing journey. Whilst in the last 40 years, over one million sailing patents have been issued. These numbers show how big the potential is for delivering Marine services and products in Poland.
People with great experience in servicing, maintenance and repair of sailing vessels are responsible in Inter Cars for creation and development of the “water” segment. Among them, there are also experts with decades of experience in servicing boats used by the Coast Guard and the Navy, and also working for well-known manufacturers of motor-boats equipment.
One does not need long-lasting analysis to notice, that in the sector there is a lot to do, in case of availability of goods, quality and time of delivering services. Manufacturers of many spare parts for motor-boats are already our suppliers, so it will be easy for us to build the product range. I think, that this way we will be able to change the market - said Maciej Oleksowicz, President of the Management Board of Inter Cars S.A.
We are creating a chain of fast distribution of spare parts for yachts and boats, and maintenance services for their owners and users. I think we are setting a new trend in the industry. We are simplifying the way the customer has to cover when looking for a service or parts, at the same time keeping top standards and procedures - declares Konrad Zatoński, Technical Director of Marine Project.
Inter Cars Group does not intend to stop with Marine segment distribution only on its domestic market. In the following months, distribution channels are to be developed in the countries, where motor-sports are the most popular, i.e. in Italy, Croatia and Greece.
We are sending a clear signal to garages servicing boats, by offering them a solution to their problems, which they have to face on a daily basis, i.e. high prices and long delivery times even in case of basic elements - explained Oleksowicz.
For this reason, the group is planning to launch a warehouse in Croatian Zagreb.
People spend their holiday on water, and they do not want any malfunctions to ruin their holiday plans, that is why we want to provide them with services and product range, which is not only unique in Poland, but all over Europe - summarized Zatoński.
