The first part of 7th edition of Golden Website contest organized by Association of Listed Companies is now finished. 71 companies qualified to the next stage of the competition. On the 11th February the Contest Jury composed of 36 specialists will start the process of further selection.

The Golden Webpage contest is an annual chance to review internet communication of listed companies. As this year the level was really high, 71 companies qualified to the second stage of the contest. I want to remind that within this year’s edition – 1st stage – we looked at 890 different websites, looking at several contest criteria, such as: communication with investors, information contents of the page and usability of the service – says President of SEG, dr. Mirosław Kachniewski.

First stage of competition included internet sites of all companies, Polish and foreign, listed on WSE as of 27th September 2013, including the New Connect market. Websites were analysed within 5 contest categories: Polish listed companies included in WIG20 and mWIG40 indexes; Polish listed companies included in sWIG80 index; Polish listed companies included in WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80 indexes; Polish listed companies listed on alternative market NewConnect; all foreign listed companies present on Stock Exchange in Warsaw, including NewConnect market.

This year maximum score was reached by two companies from the category “Polish listed companies included in WIG20 and mWIG40 indexes”. Companies from this category also had the highest average – over 33 out of 40 points. This is a very good result and outnumbers by several points the average results from category sWIG80 index. Taking into consideration the average results, the worst were foreign companies – says CEO Kachniewski.

In the second stage (11th Feb 2014 – 4th April 2014) in each five contest categories we will nominate 3 companies. Competition Jury, composed of 36 specialists, will be assessing websites as regards 9 criteria, such as: message clearness, information content, communication with investors, innovation in communication, intuitiveness, ergonomics, compliance with navigation rules, correctness of used technologies, website aesthetics, opinion of private investors, opinion of institutional investors, opinion of foreign investors.

The decision of the Jury shall be announced on April 9th 2014. During the third stage of the contest, from among 15 nominated companies, the Jury shall choose one winner for each category. The verdict of the Contest Chapter shall be announced during the 6th Convention of Investor Reports of Listed Companies SEG.

The Golden Website contest has been organized by Polish Association of Listed Companies since 2007. The aim of the contest is to improve the level of corporation communication online on Polish financial market. The rules of the contest, schedule and detailed information about 7th Golden Website contest are to be found at www.zse.seg.org.pl.

Inter Cars SA. is among the companies which are included in WIG20 and mWIG40 indexes and which qualified to the second stage of the contest.
