In Zakroczym, 3 km away from Modlin airport, and 5 km away from national road no 7, on the area of Warmian-Mazurian Special Economic Zone, a European Logistics Centre is being built, the most modern warehouse handling distribution of automotive spare parts in Europe. Inter Cars SA., which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, in 2013 bought land with buildings left after old PEWEX Company, together with surrounding lands in Zakroczym, in total 16 hectares.  In June 2014, the Council of Ministers gave permit for stretching the Warmian-Mazurian Special Economic Zone over the area of premises located in Zakroczym. ILS Company got a permit for operating within the special economic zone.  In January 2015 a contact was signed with the general contractor – Goldbeck Company and a supplier of sorter systems – Beumer Company. On 27 May this year there was an official ceremony of signing a foundation act at the premises.  End of construction work of halls: two smaller of 5,000 m2 each and the biggest one of 30k m2 is planned for the second half of this year. Official end of fitting all the devices and equipment inside, and launching the ILS logistics centre is to be realized in the summer of 2016.

 

Inter Cars, as the first company in automotive industry in Europe, is implementing the most modern sorter systems and IT solutions for handling the logistics process. The system will be able to handle even up to 30k pieces of goods per hour. 
 
Currently Inter Cars has five warehouses in Poland, including Logistics Centre in Czosnów, which in the future will be used as a supporting warehouse, and two warehouses abroad. As informs the president of ILS, Wojciech Aleksandrowicz, the new logistics centre will release around 3,500 cars with goods monthly; the stock will be storing over 200 thousand items available on the spot. The staff will be working in 34-hour system, six days a week.
