The Council of Ministers adopted a regulation amending the regulation on Warmian-Mazurian special economic zone, submitted by the Minister of Economy.
The area will be joined by 30ha of land for three new investments. So, in the near future, thanks to them there should be at least 360 new jobs, with investment on the level of around PLN 435 million. It is expected to create approximately 90 new jobs around the zone and to keep already existing 629 jobs. After the change of the borders, the area will cover 1014ha.
Among investors there is ILS company belonging to Inter Cars SA Group - the biggest in Poland, and one of the leading distributors of automotive spare parts in Europe. ILS is planning to create a modern, European logistics centre in Zakroczym, in the neighbourhood of Warsaw-Modlin Airport. It is supposed to take over most of logistic operations of the Group in Poland and Europe. The project shall cost around PLN 155 million. The centre shall employ around 200 people. The company is to keep 55 existing jobs as well. It is expected that the company shall maintain all jobs, new and existing ones, for the period of 5 years from the date of establishing all new jobs.
Other investments in broaden Warmian-Mazurian SEZ belong to the Dairy Cooperative Mlekpol (with registered seat in Grajewo) and Polmlek in Lidzbark Warminski.
